“ This was a wonderful bistro experience! I would recommend it to anyone visiting Paris. First things to note: the door is left locked, and you simply knock and the host will let you in (provided you arrived during hours). Also, the menu is fixed price. You get unlimited starters, mains, cheeses, wine/beer, and dessert for €40 per person (2023). Also, the menu changes frequently, so foods mentioned in reviews may not be available when you visit. Onto the experience itself. Despite speaking very little French, the host was very patient with us and greeted us warmly. He served us wine and a variety of charcuterie (with baguette) to start. Once we got comfortable, we ordered our mains (lasagna and beef tongue) and the chef gifted us foie gras! It was delicious and an easy way to check it off the list of foods to try in France. The beef tongue was tender and delicious. The lasagna was rich and flavorful, though the corners were a little al dente for our liking. We were offered free refills on the mains (yes, the mains), which we did oblige. For the cheese course, we tried a variety of cheeses all of which I cannot name, but they were also wonderful. For dessert we had apple pie, flan (creme caramel) and wine pear. They were all solid, especially the flan. The chef really knows how to caramelize sugar to within an inch of burning. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the hosts and chef were extremely friendly and gracious, and indulged our near complete inability to speak French. If I'm every back in Paris, I will certainly return for more! ”
